in the latest incident are real. as with the target. unmanned u.s. predator surveillance graft. the incident was real. though the timing is perhaps, perhaps suspect. one week ago. six days before the u.s. election. national security correspondent jennifer griffin is following this breaking story from the pentagon. >> reporter: at 4:50 a.m. november 1, days before the u.s. presidential election, two iranian su-25 frog foot fighter jets like these intercepted and fired twice upon an unmanned, unarmed u.s. m-2-1 predator drone over the persian gulf. it's the first time the iranians ever fired on a u.s. drone. the shots missed on both attempted. iran's fighter pilots briefly pursued the drone that landed safely at an undisclosed location. >> incident occurred over international waters. 16 nautical miles off the coastline. aircraft was never in iranian air space. it was always flying in international air space. the internationally recognized territorial limit is 12 nautical miles off the coast. we never entered the 12 nautical mile limit. >> asked whether the incident was an act of war, the penta

stronger and better positioned to surpass the u.s. in a critical marketplace of the 21st century global economy. according to the national association of manufacturers, russia imported over $500 billion in goods last year, and of that total only 5% came from u.s. exports. this bill will lift outdated policies and restrict american access to russian markets. as a result studies show u.s. producers can expect to achieve double-digit increases over the next decade in exports of heavy machinery, agricultural machinery, chemicals, and services. this is particularly critical for my home state of illinois where we have fallen behind japan and korea in these export categories. most importantly, granting russia permanent normal trade relations gives the u.s. a level playing field on which we can compete from a position of strength in thames of intellectual property and agricultural exports. it will provide a reliable forum for trade dispute resolution. and i would urge my colleagues to vote for the rule and the bill to grow american exports and create good jobs here in the united states by suppo

yesterday via those sites reopen again today from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. open for us, saturday 1:00 until 5:00 and we will keep them open as long as they are needed. we have to come up with a long-term plan for people out of their homes for months, not able to cook and find food, and we're working on that but our first concern is to meet the immediate needs of people and hope what electricity comes back to some, the population that will really need our help will be down to it more manageable size but whatever size it is i am convinced we have the resources and the drive and the management to do so. anyone who visit visit one of o3 sites will be able to take three meals and bottles of water. people should bring their own bags to carry the food and water if at all possible. to publicize their hours and locations of these homes they've handed out thousands of flyers in english and spanish and chinese in the affected areas, but officials were present in those communities and their staff going door to door to help us get the word out and we have posted the site locations on the city's website. a

to the numbers from dean mackey joining us from barclay's. good morning to you. >> good morning. >> any hair on the numbers, so to speak, as far as you can tell? >> i think this was a followed report when you look at the broad categories of job growth, when you look at the participation rate rise. the only underlying softness was in ourly earnings, but that really doesn't change the sfoer of where we've been. boug bottom line, the labor market has picked up some of the momentum after slowing down this summer. still a moderate recovery, though. >> yeah. the raining on expectationses w was 30,000 on one end. that beats even the top of the range. how could people have uniformly underestimated the number? >> the problem here is we're getting these upward revisions and so what happened last month the number was 114,000. that's been revised up significantly. if everyone would have known what that number actually was, we probably would have had higher numbers going into today's number. so it's just part of the game here, these upward revisions. >> look iing forward, dean, wit the hurricane and the

speaker boehner. harry reid said, you can't push us around, we'll tax the rich. richard thumb came in we want to preserve medicare, medicaid, social security and we don't care about the deficit. you add that up, tax now, promise to cut later, ignore the deficit. that could be the outlines of a fiscal cliff deal. bill: be clear on that now. speaker boehner before the election last week. what he is saying, there is big distinction here now, you can raise revenue but don't touch the tax rates. >> yeah. bill: how would you do that? >> okay, you could do that by cutting some loopholes. obviously, with this new administration, you're not going to get tax rates cut. that was the romney plan, to raise revenues. so you could eliminate some loopholes, deductions, for example, as a way of bringing in more tax revenue. but you're right, bill, there is a key distinction between tax rates and raising revenues by cutting loopholes. bill: give me an example. what would that deduction be? >> suppose you narrow the mortgage interest deduction, just suppose, that is not necessarily on the table, just suppo

that woman in just a desperate situation. rick leventhal knows this better than any of us right now because he has been there talking to the people about all this. he is in hard-hit, asbury park, new jersey, what is the seen there. you're in wall township not too far away. >> reporter: we're at a service plaza off the garden state parkway. he talked to a driver waiting here for 90 minutes. he is waiting full hour and a half. he was running on fumes. some people have a 80 mile commute. they want to fill up when they can. there is state trooper. i counted more than 100 vehicles in this line. this is better than it was last night when they told us the line stretched for to four miles and had to call in state troopers because there were fistfights and serious arguments breaking out because people were trying to cut in those lines. so the cops had to be called. this is being repeated this scene at many gas stations across new jersey. because as you mentioned, martha, many stations have limit the supply and most of the stations don't have power. they might have thousands of gallons in storage tan
